Good Bye Casey 💔

24 - Jan 2023

Casey

HCH, HSCH, HVCH Casey Leoland vom Unterberg
7th November 2011 – 18th January 2023

I don’t even know where to begin… 😭 Last Wednesday we had to let our beloved momma bear, Casey go, after a short illness due to old age. On Sunday afternoon she was still perfectly well, she even begged for some treat we were giving to the puppies. But then all of a sudden she didn’t finish her dinner, and then from Monday she was rapidly losing her appetite. She got intravenous infusion, but according to the blood test on Tuesday pretty much all her internal organs were failing. On Wednesday she lost all her strength, so we had to make the hard decision, we had to let her go. It was totally unexpected, she was in such a good shape. She left a huge hole in our heart, but it is also comforting to know that she lived a super and healthy life right till the end.
Casey was my very first leonberger. I was 19 when we brought her home. Basically I became a grown man having her by my side, and she had an enormous role in making me the person who I am now. She was an amazing dog with wonderful heart. She was demanding to be petted tirelessly, when she was sitting or lying next to me, and every time I stopped, she poked me with her nose or her paw. She was doing that even after 30 minutes of massage, she never got bored of it. She enjoyed her life for 11 years and 2 months that I am very grateful for. Even though most of my dogs are her descendants, our house is really empty without her, and it will never be the same. Run free now Casey mommy, and give a tight hug to Bomba, Lady and Rose. Until we meet again 💔💔
