Lady

Last Sunday we lost our beloved Lady after really tough 9 days of fighting 🥺 We are devastated and surrounded by huge emptiness, Lady was a special girl and so young yet 😭 But life is cruel and unfair sometimes… Lady had diarrhea for a while which we treated with probiotic, but on 28th of April she didn’t eat her dinner, so we went to the vet next morning. She got antibiotics since we thought she had intestine inflammation, then she became better, and ate twice that day. Next morning I noticed she vomited her dinner so we rushed to the vet again. They made ultrasound and found something round thing behind her stomach. We made x-rays as well, but vets weren’t able to find out what that was, therefore they said they needed to open her, which they would have been able to do next Monday, 3 days later. They said Lady’s condition was not bad, so they thought we had time till Monday, but I started to look for other clinics to do the surgery that day. Lady was doing fine by the way, she played with the others, went on patrol along the fence happily, but I wasn’t calm. Eventually I found a clinic, where a good friend of mine works as a vet, and she undertook the surgery immediately. (6 other clinics refused to do it that day.) They made the surgery that night on 30th of April, and they found out Lady’s caecum slipped into her colon. The surgery took 2 hours, but it went well, the stitches held perfectly the whole time. Unfortunately 2 days later Lady got sepsis and 2 days later pneumonia 🥺 Vets told already on Monday (3rd May) she won’t make it unless we can decrease her fever, and unfortunately we couldn’t. But Lady was a strong girl, and she fought 6 more days. But she became weaker with each day, and even she had a poop on Saturday morning, on Sunday morning she fell asleep forever. The vets and the assistants were crying together with us 😭💔 Right now there is nothing which can decrease our pain, but it is helpful to know Lady made beyond her best to be healthy again, the whole clinic made all their best to cure Lady, and my family and friends made their best too. I’m thankful to everybody who helped us through these 9 really hard days. The clinic is 2,5 hours driving away from us, but a very dear friend of mine offered me to stay at them to be able to visit Lady twice a day, since they live 10 minutes away from the clinic ❤ It meant a lot to Lady, and I’m sure that’s why she was able to fight so strongly ❤ Unfortunately it wasn’t enough 😢
Lady was a sweetheart. She wasn’t good at dog shows, because she was really shy with foreign people, but once she accepted a person, then she adored them to the moon and back, and she was the cutest dog ever. I respected that, so I stopped showing her, and started the dog school, which she loved. She was such a kind dog with all the dogs, no matter if they were small or giant breeds. She loved playing with all the dogs, and she loved her puppies the most. I wasn’t sure about taking her in breeding, but it was one of my best decisions ever. Lady had 8 beautiful puppies, and she raised them up with all her heart. She raised them to be perfectly well-balanced puppies, she taught them everything, and she wouldn’t have been able to leave them alone for more than 10 minutes. I’m glad I gave a chance for her, because this was one of the biggest joys in her life, and now she lives on in her beautiful puppies ❤ I will never forget how she welcomed me all the time. She was bouncing with her two front legs, but only tiny bouncing, she never meant to hurt anybody. She gently grabbed my hands too and pulled me after herself. When I was squatting, she always put her head on my shoulders, and we were hugging for a couple of minutes. She made this even at the clinic when I visited her and when she was strong enough to walk yet. I will never forget her smell, and her kind eyes. She will always be my Lady! Please forgive me I couldn’t save you 🥺 Untill we meet again 💔💔
